-environment: 
EARTH SCIENCE -
the air, water, and land in or on which people, animals, and plants live:
We’re trying to protect the environment from pollution.

-global warminga gradual increase in world temperatures caused by gases such as carbondioxide that are collecting in the air around the earth and stopping heat escaping into space.

-acid rain: rain that contains large amounts of harmful chemicals as a result of burning substances such as coal and oil. 

-greenhouse effect: an increase in the amount of carbon dioxide and other gases in the atmosphere (= mixture of gases of around the earth), that is believed  to be the cause of a gradual warming of the surface of the earth.

-ozone layer: a layer of air containing ozone high above the earth that prevents harmful ultraviolet light from the sun from reaching the earth.

-oil slick: a layer of oil that is floating over a large area of the surface of the sea, usually because an accident has caused it to escape from a ship or container.

-glacier: a large mass of ice that moves slowly.

-hurricane: a violent wind that has a circular movement, especially in the West Atlantic Ocean.

-bleeding-edge (adj) technology : it is a category of technologies so new that they could have a high risk of being unreliable and lead adopters to incur greater expense in order to make use of them. The term bleeding edge was formed as an allusion to the similar terms "leading edge" and "cutting edge".

-state-of-the-art (adj): the most recent stage in the development of a product, incorporating the newest ideas and features - "a new state-of-the-art hospital".

-cutting-edge (adj): very modern and with all the newest features: cutting-edge design/technology, the newest and most advanced area of an activity.

-fifth generation: thanks to the forthcoming 5G standard, digital networks are about to get even faster. 5G is the fifth generation (thus, the "G") of mobile wireless systems, a way for devices, both mobile and stationary, to send and receive data without being plugged into a wall in your home or at the office. Fifth generation computers are in designing mode with Artificial Intelligence technology.

-high technology: High technology, or high tech (sometimes also called frontier technology or frontier tech), is technology that is at the cutting edge: the most advanced technology available. The opposite of high tech is low technology, referring to simple, often traditional or mechanical technology.

-labour-saving (adj): A labour-saving device or method is one that saves a lot of effort and time.
-outdated (adj): out of date; obsolete.

-advanced (adj): having the most modern and recently developed ideas, methods, etc.; (of a course of study) at a high or difficult level.

-digital divide : it is a term that refers to the gap between demographics and regions that have access to modern information and communications technology, and those that don't or have restricted access. This technology can include the telephone, television, personal computers and the Internet. The major cause of the digital divide is access. Although this is the major contributing factor, there are other factors that contribute which include the following: cost of technology, access for the disabled, lack of skills, lack of education, lack of information, and lower-performance computers.

1-Escolhe uma imagem para descrever na aula (relacionada com as unidades do manual: já trabalhadas ou que estão a trabalhar). 
Envia a imagem para o mail que o(a) teu/tua professor(a) indicar.
2- Faz também uma pesquisa sobre os 4 patronos do Reino Unido: (St.Andrew, St.David, St.Patrick e St.George). Serão feitas perguntas sobre eles na aula. 
3- Revê o Simple Past dos verbos (7º e 8º anos)/ 
Revê o Simple Past dos verbos e o Past Participle (9º ano).

Nas datas que o(a) teu/tua professor(a) marcar para estas atividades de expressão oral tens que estar preparado(a):
-terás que falar sobre a imagem que escolheste, trazê-la e mostrá-la;
-terás que responder a uma pergunta sobre um dos patronos;
-terás que responder a uma pergunta sobre verbos.
