Thought of
the week
"Many of life's failures are
people who did not realize
how close they were to success
when they gave up."
Thomas Edison
I'm an English teacher and I've created this blog for 7th, 8th and 9th grade students from Escola Básica Hermenegildo Capelo, Palmela, and their teachers. The purpose is to motivate students to participate in English. I/ We/They can share opinions, curiosities, information, thoughts, short comments and/ or texts about topics discussed in classes. Learning English can be fun!
9th graders
And this school year
is over ...
So many different memories in your / our lives …
so many different experiences in this school year and the previous,
so many good things to remember and cherish!
I wish you all the best and I hope life smiles for you,
dear 9th graders.
Embrace the new things that the future will give you.
Share your thoughts and opinions, fight for your dreams,
and never give up, no matter the difficulties you might have!
Why don't you all have a look at your "writing experiences"?

Environment Day
The theme for World Environment Day 2021 is “Ecosystem Restoration” and will see the launch of the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration.
Ecosystem restoration can take many forms: Growing trees, greening cities, rewilding gardens, changing diets or cleaning up rivers and coasts.

International
Children 's day
To all the children:
the ones we / you are,
the ones we / you used to be,
to all of you / us a happy and awesome day!
"There is a garden in every childhood,
an enchanted place where colours are brighter,
the air softer, and the morning more fragrant
than ever again."
Elizabeth Lawrence
2021 theme:
"International Children's Day has a theme set up by UNICEF.
It focuses on one of the primary children's rights,
such as a right for clean water
and a safe climate, or right for education
without disruptions. It's a tradition to have
an awareness talk on that day
in primaries and kindergartens."
